Phil Chamberlain II

Mr. Chamberlain has owned an operated construction companies for 32 years in and around the greater Memphis area.  He is a licensed general contractor in the states of Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.  Believing in the responsibility to give back to the community, Mr. Chamberlain served as a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis from 2001-2007, and served as President of the Board at Habitat in 2006.  Mr. Chamberlain was elected by his piers to be President of the Memphis Area Home Builders Association in 2002, and then President of the Home Builders Association of Tennessee in 2010.    In 2008, he was the sole construction expert appointed to Tennessee Governor Bredesen’s Energy Task Force joining 17 other experts, such as environmental lawyers from Vanderbilt and scientist from Oakridge National Laboratories to craft a comprehensive energy policy that would be adopted by the Tennessee legislature.  Beginning in 2011 to 2015, Tennessee Governor Haslam appointed Mr. Chamberlain as one of 15 Board of Directors of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA).  THDA is widely known as one of the top Housing Finance Agencies in the country.  Two of the most rewarding construction projects under the direct responsibility of Mr. Chamberlain were 73 homes built for Naval Officers on the Naval Base in Millington, Tennessee, and the 150 affordable homes built in the Hope VI development known as Uptown Memphis near St. Jude.  The Naval project contract was approximately $12,900,000 dollars and the Uptown Memphis project was a total of $15,000,000 over the life of the project.
